Full body “casketed” burial is a time-honored tradition. In fact it’s what most people think of when they picture a cemetery. There are two types of casketed burial – in-ground and above-ground.

In Ground Burial

For in-ground burial, most cemeteries only offer standard “grid-like” traditional graves and uniformly sized monuments or markers. But at the Forest Lawn Group of Cemeteries we offer some of the most unique burial areas in Western New York, with a wide range of prices starting as low as $500. If you’re thinking about in-ground full body burial, once you select the grave, you can choose how you and/or your loved one will be memorialized (how the grave will be marked). There are a number of options to choose from and countless ways to personalize them to tell your family’s story.

Above Ground Burial

At some of the cemeteries in the Forest Lawn Group, you’ll find a number of above-ground burial options in a community (public) or private (family) mausoleum. Whether public or private, mausoleums offer a secure enclosure that will remain clean and completely dry by not ever letting the casket or vault come in contact with the earth, as entombed bodies remain above the ground in crypts. Mausoleums provide a serene and comfortable environment where family can visit with, pray for, and honor those they love in all seasons, regardless of weather conditions.
