Founded in 1841 and located in the heart of the Village of East Aurora, Oakwood is a non-profit, non secterian cemetery and the final resting place for many of the original settlers of the area. Oakwood Cemetery is proudly the final resting place for veterans of virtually all of our nation’s wars, including some of our earliest conflicts — the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812 and the Civil War.
In addition to recognizing the history of our cemetery, and the early settlers buried here, we are an active cemetery today, with affordable options for casketed and cremation burial. As part of the Forest Lawn Cemetery Group, we pledge continued maintenance and care for the cemetery’s grounds, committed to assuring its future.
